well the motor has been swapped. no major issue apart from the power steering fluid pouring out somewhere. i haven't had a chance to locate the leak. good news is we have a spare incase there is a problem with the pump on that other motor. all other things like AC and Alt were swapped, just not the PS pump.

Going in

Extras include New Tails to replace the broken pass side (note the crease in the bumper lol)

Pass mirror (old was shattered)

Old Cluster

new cluster

I think the PS leak was really just air in the system. it took quite a bit to fill it up apparently. seems to be holding a fluid level now. she's in it today we will see.

lol well i spoke too soon. it still leaks out somewhere. its weird because it doesn't leak while its running as far as i can tell. Could be the pump itself i'm sure. good thing i have a spare...

well I fixed the power steering leak. those factory hose clamps were just garbage. nothing a hose clamp couldn't fix.

however... just tonight it left us stranded from what i can best tell is a fuel pressure issue. its raining and dark so it will sit until tomorrow and i'll go back into town and see what the pressure is with the gauge.

the nice thing about all this is there is a donor car that I can pull parts off of just to save a few bucks or at least give me some time until I can replace it.

Needless to say I started working in the camaro today after fixing the PS leak... i go to drop the rotors off to get turned and it leaves us stranded in town... I guess its just jealous lol

we solved the problem... it was a stupid problem.

turns out the new cluster read the fuel gauge differently. so it wasn't until I pulled the fuel pump out that I realized that there was no fuel. It would have saved me an entire day had courtney mentioned that she had only used 1/2 of a tank in the same time it normally takes to use an entire tank So Much Fail.

The old cluster is back in the dash and the fuel gauge works correctly. Direct swap it was not. I'm still going to research how I can make the other cluster work but for now I'm just going to focus on getting all the broken stuff fix.

Wow, out of gas, it happens. At least it was an easy fix once you found the root cause.
