Thumbs up Pretty good

Yeah , i've tore down the motor down to the heads. swaped oil pans and taken everything off the old motor like motor mounts, starter, trans mounts. But If got to pick up bolts for my pully puller for my harmonic balancer. Those are like 6mm bolts that thread into the pully right? Been working till 10:00 every night. but things are coming along smoothly I've only got an less than hour of usable sunlight after I get off work so be using the my "Big light" to light my area. Note: I hate doing things out side. You have no control of temp or humidity.

I've also decided to paint more than just the intake and valve covers. Including the ac compress bracket, coil pack mount, water pump housing, heater bypass bkt, and anything else that looks like that raw alum. It rained yesterday so i didn't spray any paint, but its supposed to be sunny and in the 70's all the way thru Saturday. So i hope I'm able to get all these parts painted and start assembling the motor. Get it cleaned up then start cleaning under the hood. I'm looking at finishing sunday. I'll be doing a lot of clean up saturday before I do the install.

You still aiming for a friday? lol

I'm going black. lol. i just want it to look clean. that raw alum just gets dirty. at least i'll be able to wipe it down when its painted. I might, If I got time after i paint, have a friend put the UIM on a mill and mill the "3800 series II" down to show a machine finsh. that should look sweet!

Smile Getting Closer!

Day 125:

Ive replaced all the gaskets and seals except for the rear main, LIM, UIM, and the Valve Covers. Just got through painting the LIM, UIM, Valve covers, the coil pack plate & bracket, and AC compress bracket. I'm taking the UIM to my friend to see if he can machine the "3800..." on the top to show the letters. I'll show pic Asap. Tonight I'll be assembling the rest of the motor. . Motor is looking good. and its very clean. I am happy with the purchase now after seeing the motor has been taken care of. anywho, I took a few snap shots of the motor before i painted the parts and i'll take some tonight after i put it togther.

Preview before painting

Old motor with all the "green" junk on it.

Painting

Cleanliness!
