So I finally got the title from granny. I almost thought she was gonna keep it from me, she got pissed because her car would start after sitting for a week in 5 degree weather...lady is nuts. Jumped the car and shes happy.

Only plans are to figure something out with the steel rims/hub caps...other than that the car is fine, except possibly the motor mounts...not sure if i fucked them up doing the clutch job or what but when i shift gears and let off the clutch if your not super smooth you can feel movement, however the mount that controls the foward back motion seemed very solid. Maybe its just me, its my first FWD manual or maybe ill try to find a polyurethane mount.

I'd stick with hubs you can probably use the money for more desirable things.

I agree, ive decided im just going to make this car extremely clean/stock and otherwise leave it alone. Im going to get some nice hub caps off a golf and thats it. Car works fine no reason to put money into it. I would probably get more negative attention anyway for putting money into it.

So my wife and i are both getting ourselves something nice with our tax money and putting the rest away for a nice financial cushion. Ive decided to do some mods with my car with a budget of about $1000. Not going too crazy. I have to fiddle with my car, i just have to. Its in my blood.

First and foremost I want to do a simple intake setup, high flow cone filter, and a straight through design muffler for a little bit extra flow, nothing crazy, mostly for sound and a tad bit of throttle response. Not trying to go fast, its all for fun.

Second I need to get a polyurethane tranny/motor mount to get rid of the wheel hop and motor movement. Beleive it or not this thing SMOKES through first and chirps second...or rather hops second...but i think with this upgrade ill be spinning in second a bit too. The gearing is very short, in 5th gear im doing 3000 - 3500 rpm doing 65ish however it tops out at 6500 rpms, even a little more i think.

Next I want to do some cheap easy suspension upgrades. Possibly going to lower if its not too expensive although i think it will. Polyurethane bushings, upgraded greasable tie rods, ball joints etc.

Next im going to do just a couple visual mods. Im going to slap on some simple clean silver wheel covers that cover as much of the steel rim as possibly so it doesnt look too painfully obvious theyre wheel covers.

Then im going to replace the silver grill piece with a black one and no emblem, and replace the rear emblem with a black one.

Im going to replace the headlights and tail lights with aftermarket ones. I found a sick led set that comes in a set with all four. And that pretty much sums it up. This is what it would look like with the grill peice, ignore the ground effects, and try picturing those headlights on it.

Its completely believable about smoking the tires. My 98 HP geo storm smoked through 1st and second. Its how fwd cars are. Think about it. When you accelerate alot of weight gets thrown back. There for its easier in a fwd because rwd has to fight the weight transfer and fwd gets an advantage because it takes weight off of the front of the car.
