Your friendly neighborhood thread jacker here...

How do I learn what ratio comes in my '94 3.4 stock?

Is it unwise to fiddle with the ratio as the 3.4 runs out of breath so soon anyway?

Should I start a new thread to discuss this?

Thanks!

you can start a thread if you want.

choosing a gear ratio is more for purpose than improvement. you just end up turning HP into Torque with taller gears. so as far as number you don't really gain anything or lose anything.

and you can swap gear and still run your 3.4. its not going to impact the engine at all. just the RPM at certain speeds. I find a 3.42 rear is the best of both worlds. it will give you the pep you looking for without sacrificing that much top speed (by top speed I mean rpm level at highway speed.

I don't think you can accurately use time due to stopping.

True, but I was under the impression that the graph was of a single trip.
