Gonna be a 4th gen fbody, and you'll just have to find one with the correct setup. Any car could have tcs, making it 4 channel. Also any car could have a limited slip.

3rd gens are more narrow, truck rears don't have torque arm mounting provisions.

mine was a 96 i believe but you should be able to grab any LSD from a 93-98 if i'm not mistaken. you will have to look up the rpo code for the gear that you are looking for though.

this is all the info i have on rears. click here

Thank you sir.
So I should look for a 93-98 rear axle with the RPO codes for LSD and rear discs...
Did the Z28s and Trans -Ams automatically have those options? Just wondering what to look for at the JY. Also, are they ALL 10-bolt 7.5/7.625?

Thanks again!

idk about that. I'm sure there are a few that were ordered without those extra options because it was cheaper but i'm sure most all had them.

Some one else is going to have to comment on the 10 bolt question.

All the 3rd and 4th gens have 7.5-7.65 10 bolts. Gm does make an 8.5 also, my truck has one.

Definitely!! I think I should look for a vss gear for the 3.42 if they're available for the T5.
That will keep it simple for the guy who's gonna tune the ecm.
Wish I could figure out how to hack into it myself...
