Default What's the best performance Fuel Pump Replacment

I need a replacement fuel pump. I'm going to be upgrading the pump to a performance pump but I don't have a good idea what to get. I've searched and have found a couple of threads and fuel pump replacement but not on the fuel pump itself.
If you would, please give your experience with your replacement performance fuel pump. Please give the your experience during the install and after the install.

Thanks,
(Maybe we can sticky this too)

Walbro seems to be the most popular choice when upgrading the fuel pump.

99% of people you will find with performance pumps will be walbro. You can get car speicific kits or just the drop in pump itself.

What about wiring? I assume they come with a kit. I don't know what to expect. I'm looking at this one: Here

I've replaced my pump with a walbro. But in the process I realize the stock pump has an extra two rubber hoses on it the look like they recirculate the fuel to prevent air from getting into the pump or something. Anyone know what repercussions would be to leave those lines undone or left out. The stock pump has a housing it fits in where the extra line feed into, which is where the fuel is recirculated.

well the new pump installed looks like this.... Note the two extra rubber lines. they are removed right now...

but the old pump has a housing and two rubber hoses that run , one in to the housing and one out into the tank. (see below) I left them both out and it runs fine. but I thought there might be some possible problems with it later.

I spoke with one person and they ran the pump with the lid of the housing. but I took all that out with just a pump and the main line from the pump.

its a closed loop return system so one is returning fuel back to the tank and the other is for fuel vapors. Then of course your main one for feeding the engine.

I was thinking I was ok to leave all that out. I'll leave it all out. I don't see a need to have it all hooked up.
