Default Heater Hose clips....

Well I tried to delay the in inevitable by using hose clamps to hold the Heater hoses to the Bypass bracket but the clips on the upper hose finally broke completely of and made yet another mess under the hood. I've looked at a couple different fixes:

-First one of course is to replace the hoses (GM PART # 10415018) @ gmpartsdirect.com @ $102.40

-(my favorite) second is to get these adapters from v6fixit.com @ 50.50 with shipping

-Or I think I can make the same adapters here at the model shop using the same fittings @ around 15 dollars

What you think?

If you have the ability to make them, i would at least look into it. Save more money for mods.

Unhappy temporarily fixed

well this sucks. I believe I'll be making my own. but the only problem is our shop guy is vacationing this week sooo..... I'l have to wait because I'm not to familiar with the lathe. It scares me. lol But I can do a little fabricating. I modeled this little bracket which should hold for a little while. I basically strap the hose in place. Next week I'll be having my guy here fab me up some custom fittings.

Here is my current setup. Please ignore the brown shit all over the place. I was running that prestone coolant system flush stuff and was on my way home to flush the stuff out and it blew off and created this mess all over the place. so much for a nice clean engine bay.

Thumbs down cooling issues... again

I guess this car is cursed to have cooling issues. No sooner I get it patched up something else wants to be fixed. Yesterday my water pump was sad...... it started weeping..... Bad. So I took the pump off the "green" motor and touched it up with some black. Looks good for a free replacement. I hope this one holds up longer.

And while I was at it, I decided to flush it all out and hopefully get all the rust and dirt out of it. May have to use the some more Prestone flushing fluid. but for now just making sure that the other water pump is ok.
