I just did it. Haven't have it out on the road yet, but I'll report. Also after opening it all up, it looks really easy to construct a CAI. I'll try that next.

Instructions Here (http://www.installuniversity.com/install_university/installu_pages/freshman_year/free_ram_air_mod.htm)

you're gonna notice up to 3-4 at best. it's more for better throttle response.

take some pics of your cuts

I got one pic... looks pretty much the same as the instructions.

I'll take more pics when I build the CAI.

I was just outside playing with the car, and was going to cut it as its looks to be easy, but I took a few mins to think about and I shouldnt be cutting on my car sober let alone fucked up.....So I left it alone.............GOOD JOB JIM!!!!!!!!

Looking good.....

Do it TT. It couldn't be easier. It took 10 minutes, start to finish. I just used a jig saw to cut the base. The part under the base can literally be cut with a box opener.

Gotta love the free mods, looks good for sure. I have noticed my filter gets dirtier way quicker, so keep an eye on it.

yeah, I was thinking about just using the factory coupler on the box. Is that a 2" to 3" PVC coupler going to the intake with a short piece of 2" pipe?

no its not a pvc coupler. its and intake coupler. i tried using the pvc coupler from home depot it was just way to freakin thick. so i went to pepboys and got the intake coupler. i think its a 3" on the TB but i cant remember that the other pipe is. i thought it was 3 inches but it might be smaller. if you can wait before you do it i can check when i get home. i even have an extra you can have if you want to get it. i dont know where you live though or how far you live.

I have a silencer delete if you'd like to buy it. I got my new whisper lid in so I have a smooth lid and silencer delete if anybody wants. Yes I know I'm a month behind but just in case =P

I actually found that a 3" PVC coupler, not the rubber one but one made of PVC that links 2 3" PVC pipes, worked perfect using the factory rubber couplers.

I too now have a Whisper lid. They are VERY nice. :naughty:

Yeah I had one before but it cracked down by where you clip it down and I hit a bump one day and the crack finally ascended a little too far :(
