I have the stock original system in my 95...oddly enough with the 10-speaker system.

I hate it.

I want to get something new, but don't want to give up my wheel controls. I have kids and those come in handy. My power button also got knocked off, too, so that's irritating. And I never use my power button because my stupid antenna is stuck.

Okay, I need a new stereo.

I agree. Make it so!

Get this. http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=212&CategoryID=29. I got it. Many have it. Simple one wire hook up and has worked for years.

Uh...I was kinda lookin' to see if anything besides a Monsoon would work.

And how to get the flippin' thing out.

Monsoon? I thought you wanted to be able to control an after market head unit with your steering wheel controls.

I don't care if it's Monsoon or aftermarket, as long as it ain't what I got NOW!

Yeah, that SWI will get your steering wheel interface (SWI) working with an after market head unit, so your options are opened up to anything that has steering wheel audio support, which is most after market decks.

I would definitely recommend Pioneer hands down for decks. Great bang for the buck, great sound for a deck, usually great options and mostly decent looking as well. I've used the Pioneer 5900, 7800, 9800, and 3900 and all have been quite nice, and I'd recommend them.

I'm rockin' Pioneer as well. Great head units.

Let me enter more detail.

No rainbow colors that light up my entire interior just from the head unit and nothing you have to be a rocket-scientist or have a microscope to use.

my Pioneer deck is dead-simple. standard single disk unit w/ an ipod jack. nothing fancy, and the green backlighting matches my green dash lights :D

I think my dash lights are red...Pontiac-style. Damn...now I gotta look!

I have the Clarion CX609 in my Buick. Looks ridiculously stock, can be any one of 700some colors, has USB audio, CD/MP3, Radio, Built-In Bluetooth, and some other cool features. Also is double din size, so it actually fits correctly.

I would recommend it, but it sounds very similar to a stock deck. (not great) Course, it has the expandability of an amp, and once the amp is added, the thing sounds amazing.

If you're mostly concerned about options and not so much SQ, it's a nice, stock looking deck. If you want something that sounds great without the added hassle, like I said; Pioneer, hands down.

Here's a few options from Pioneer that would match nicely:

Cheap (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/CD-Players/DEH-1200MP)

Lots of options (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/CD-Players/DEH-P5200HD)

Built-In Bluetooth (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/CD-Players/DEH-P6200BT)

Thanks for all the suggestions!!! The car has the upgraded system with the amp in the quarter panel, so an amp is already there. Have to see how stuff "plays in" to my budget... *sigh*
