Anyone know where this is acutally located, and the steps in changing it? I'm not even 100% sure thats the problem since i hear it runing.

When ever i turn the vent on i can hear a crazy hum and vibration come from under the passenger side dash, however little to no air comes out the vent. I wonder if something is blocking the fan itself after sitting so long ( i have heard of debris getting down in it). So basically im just wanting to know where its all at and how to access it, so i can do some investigating.

Upon further inspection i ran across these little guys

a little closer macro action

I guess yall thought i was kidding when i said i would find a rat or two in there. fyi there were acuatlly 4 babies and 1 momma minus the head. guess that got chopped off when i turned it on. they had been dead a while though.

03-23-2010, 08:57 PM
It's probably a dead wombat.

03-23-2010, 09:55 PM
OMG, I thought mine was bad and it only had a few leaves in it.

03-23-2010, 11:53 PM

03-24-2010, 12:03 AM

I'm gonna do it at lunch tomorrow.

lol same. if mine is as bad i might have to make a whole new thread just to post pictures of what people found in their blower motor.

03-24-2010, 01:48 AM
Bob, I was thinking the exact same thing. Post up stuff found in your blower.

03-24-2010, 09:06 AM
Well remember mine set in a field for a year, so its probably a little worse then you all will find. Plus when i turned mine own it sounded like a space shuttle about to take off.

03-26-2010, 12:35 AM
wow...mice eh? better go check mine...i've always wanted a hamster

03-26-2010, 05:51 AM
LOL That's quiet a surprise, looks like they made a nice nest in there.

03-28-2010, 11:33 AM
i cleaned mine out a few days ago, but found nothing but a good handful of leaves. I did increase the air coming out of the vents, i love it!

03-28-2010, 07:43 PM
Wow... that's quite a find. And gross too. Lol. Glad you got it all cleaned out and now have a functioning blower motor though. All I ever got out of mine was a handful of leaves and a small twig. Made that wonderful baseball card in bike spoke fluttering noise.

Note to self: Never park car in field for more than 12 hour increments.

03-29-2010, 08:59 AM
Yea definetly dont do that. gonna pull the motor again soon and sock the blade part in bleach. still not liking them smell i get outta the vents.

03-29-2010, 09:51 AM
It's probably that head that is up in the vents now.

03-29-2010, 10:19 AM
lol i hope not, i will end up pulling all that shit out if so.

03-29-2010, 06:28 PM
I'm thinking that's why the technical term is now a "Squirrel Cage Blower Motor"...
