Just fabbed up some EGR block off plates for my 3.4

Also made an aluminum spacer to account for the missing 1/2" when switching from a stock tranny mount to a solid rubber v8 mount.

I was wonderingif theres anything I need to do before I take My EGR off, I dont thing its working anyway, lol. I have no Cat, no polution control, and no cross over pipe.

You might need it for inspection, but the mechanics I go to don't really care if all the emissions crap is there. Hell, I don't even have the stock computer anymore lol

I actually don't need the PLENUM EGR plate anymore so if you want it you can have it. It's a perfect fit. You will just need to find a way to block off the lower EGR pedestal on the exhaust manifold or header (whichever you have)

Keep in mind if you remove the EGR you will set a code (only when decelarating from highyway speeds) but the SES light goes away once you turn your car off.

Assuming your EGR was still working properly you may see a slight drop in gas mileage and your combustion temps may go up slightly but then again, the EGR is only used in certain instances.

On the plus side you will be able to remove that ugly pos and your internals will stay cleaner with less carbon deposits.

But this is all assuming that it works anyways.

If it doesn't work...

I say give it the old "see ya!"

well the light already comes on after im going down the the road a good ways. I have already takin off everything thats useless.and that is on my list. Ive got some metel I can make the plates out of. I thought about just hacking off the flange on the header where it mounts and weld it up.

I just installed that new v8 rubber tranny mount.

It actually made a nice improvement in my shifting. I can actually "feel" it shifting now decisively without a lot of slop.

This mod is of course waay more effective for cars with a manual transmission or if you go with a poly mount (which I hear can be TOO hard) but the fact that the stock 3.4 tranny mount is oil filled and was ~ 18 years old means there was improvements to be had.

Wasn't that hard to install either and it is super duper cheap.
