Its a great idea for someone that doesn't want the loudness of after-market exhaust on your dd. If you go with an electrical one you get what you pay for, so done cheap out. If you dont mind crawling under there to unbolt it (say for track outtings) a manual one is a nice option.

I have a manual cutout after the s pipe and in the two years I have had it I've never closed it, so I would say the manual ones are fine. FWIW I have pacesetter headers and a stock cat and a Flowmaster muffler. If you want to easily be able to close it then the electric ones are nice, but I couldn't justify the price of one.

ive actually been wondering about putting one of these on my truck. alot of people just remove the muffler and put a straight pipe in its place. but for long tirps it would be nice to be able to close the pipe and have the stock sound.

Some states they are illegal, like here in PA, and they don't pass inspection. I get around it, but I would check first.

Mine isn't too bad, it doesn't sound too raspy. I like the sound from the cutout more than any muffler I have heard.

Maybe I'll go record a video of it later on, but the only ricey sound comes from magnaflow mufflers which I don't like on these cars at all.
