So I figured I would let some of you know a good way to get a little bit more air. I have a 2001 with 3.8. I recently installed a cold air intake I bought off ebay. At the throttle body is a 90 degree elbow facing the drivers side, ran the tubing along the radiator, then put another 90 degree elbow pointing down. I did have to trim a piece of the fuse box and ran another tube into the opening in the frame. My filter is installed on the end of the tubing. Now the filter is directly behind the bumper. I then noticed the fog lights opening is a couple of inches to the right of the filter. So I bought a flexible tube that I attached to the opening and the other end. To the filter. The cool thing is when riding this will force more air into the intake and the throttle response is awesome. I spent a total of 70 for the whole setup. Now how many horse it gave, I have no idea but there is a definite improvement.

I was wondering if anyone else thought of doing something like this. I'm glad to hear you got it to work.
I'm considering the Fast Toys ram air kit at some point but yours sounds a lot more interesting. Plus it doesn't sound like your solution affects the air flow across the radiator like the Fast Toys kit does.

I'm going to go on a limb and guess that the ram air is going to give you colder air. Newer intake have better flow imo. Shorter and direct air from the front of the car from the radiator scoop.

You can hear it drawing in the air , lime drooping it to 4th to pass, sounds. Nice to me. I noticed even when passing I can leave it in 5th gear and it does fine. . I'd rather had the.raidator breathing better than clog it up. But I thought I let people know.

Sounds just like the 93-97 style CAI's.

The ram air I have doesn't block the raidator at all. I'll take a picture next time I get the chance

That's actually the ac condenser it's sitting on, in front of the rad.

Then how does it block my radiator?

So I redid my intake hose, basically I found and old pcv pipe and cut it down, reused the factory hoses and lid. Took out the silencer. I know others have done this as well, seems to be the same affect as the original I had but easier to get to the filter lol. Anyone there ideas to do, just let me know
