View Full Version : Got to run my first Auto-X!

Was a fantastic experience! We were able to do 2, 6-lap practice sessions of the course and one 4-lap timed session.

Not sure where I placed yet, since it is PCA and they're still getting things figured out it was more of a fun run. I got classed with a bunch of STI's and an Evo with one corvette vert and a Cayenne!

The two STI's were quicker than me by probably 4 seconds, but they had more power and AWD. The last fast corner was a dead spot, too high to shift into 1st, but so low in 2nd that the car was out of the cam's powerband.

They'll be posting times on their website soon.

HAD A FRIGGIN BLAST! Got nothing but compliments, and had good tips from two road race instructors there.

Have fun with autocross! I tried a few times but decided it was not right for me and my car.

That is cool the Home Depot lets you run in their parking lot.

I know everyone wants to make good times, but it also helps with reaction times and wheel placement that makes you a better driver on the street.

That looks like a blast. Originally, I built my suspension because I wanted to try this, but I never got around to doing it.

Two sessions, turn it up a little. I get some funny commentary here and there.

Looks like you have a nice area for running Auto-X and a relatively diverse group. Your car is set up really well for it too. Were you the only F-body?

I couldn't watch all of it yet, did you happen to kill any cones?

I did get a few cones here and there. Not as many as one Cobra did though.

I was the only F-body there, somebody else had registered in their TA but never showed :(

It looked like in the second videos you were moving a lot faster. is that because of the camera angle or were you getting a little more comfortable :D

Both. I was getting a good rhythm as it was the 2nd session.

I probably won't get to take part in any other auto-x this season, but chomping at the bit for my next chance.

Kind of an old bump but that looks fun as hell. Nice job holding it down for the F bodies haha.
