Throwback Bird
08-01-2011, 08:11 AM
you dont have any problems with the mufflers under the axle? has a real good sound to it.

grn97rs
08-01-2011, 08:41 AM
Thanks it's 2.5in piping and the mufflers are borla turbos off jegs. Under axle works pretty well. No fat chicks in car, mufflers will scrape...

xpbr2000
08-01-2011, 02:05 PM
that sounds really good. I hope that mine sounds as good after the rebuild. i cant hope for much. i have a crappy dual out turbo muffler. IDK what kind. This was 5 years ago.

Throwback Bird

is your car lowered any?

grn97rs
08-02-2011, 02:36 PM
I wouldn't recommend the exhaust setup I have on a lowered car. My stock springs sag so it sits a little lower than factory but I also have large mufflers so something smaller would offer better ground clearance. I'll scrape every now and then but only when going highway speeds

Throwback Bird
08-05-2011, 07:28 PM
I would be scared I would hit something and rip the muffler off. and my car is lowered

grn97rs
08-09-2011, 10:05 AM
You could run the mufflers transversely after the rear axle to help with clearance on a lowered car

Throwback Bird

the only thing holding me back is my headers cause my car is a 3.4 and the driver side header routes down towards the oil pan not straight down like the pass side.

I've been thinking of doing borla also on my car and truck. I have a flowmaster on the car now, I don't like it and I have stock v8 muffler, I'm probably gonna give the flowmaster away.

Try a Bassani, I have yet to see one on a v6, but Borla does sound the best of any I've ever. Well besides an open cutout.

Come to think of it I never posted an exhaust clip.

This is my old setup:
pacesetter headers, stock catback with open cutout and a rotted out flowmaster muffler.

http://s514.photobucket.com/albums/t343/frankiegyo/?action=view&current=oldsetup.mp4

New setup:
Pacesetter headers, 97 SS dual dual 2.5" catback. Only have a vid of it from the track. I need to get an outside the car clip. Personally I perferred the old setup, but couldn't find a place to pass the cutout and the flowmaster was made entirely of rot.

Crap I wish I remember now I think in the area of 3500-4000.
Before I did this setup anything anything above like 2300 sounded like poo. Now it sounds a lot better at idle and putting around town. At WOT its a lil raspy if you listen to my racing vids on youtube
