Very good info thar freak. I wouldnt mind doing this myself but ugh, wish I had known this before I got my motor put together.

Though these motors usually last a good 100k+ miles even w/out this mod. Its mainly for a modded motor.

Mine lasted 130k miles and wasnt taken the best of care. I had overheating/coolant problems 2 summers in a row and thats what did my motor in.

you can always buy a seperate oil filter houseing from a junkyard and send it to him. then just swap them out at your next oil change.

You mean its actually in the oil filter area? Why was I thinking it was the oil pump area?

I had this mod done to my car as well. Went to a local shop, the machinist immediately knew what I wanted and was like "Oh yeah! I do this on my big blocks all the time! I'd rather know I've got something wrong immediately than wash out all my bearings with bad oil!"

theres a few people that will do it for you. I asked for the info and the guy said he didn't trust anyone enough to do it themselves. :-\

I was going to but i didn't have an extra oil filter housing to send him. its basically machining a hole to bypass the oil filter. I've just been using oil treatment to try and keep the oil passages clean.
