well guys i hate to say it but ive crossed over to the lincoln side. i dont think its the dark side though. i mean its a ford product but really shares no components with the mustang.

i did the right thing after letting my firebird go. i tried to get her back. offered some cash but nothing. i recently just spoke with the new owner and he said he is selling the car to a friend for $4000 knowing its over book. whatever though what can i say? its one thing to try and make a ton off someone you dont know. its another to screw your friend over on a car thats not worth it.

anyway i have to let go. so moving onto the ls.

managed to get the car for $3400 so i feel like i did alright. the book on the car in private or retail is WAY over that. before i get the responses on the coil packs. i know they can be an issue. while i have been looking to try and regain my bird back oveer the last week ive been looking at tons of ls's. fate would have it that this would be the last car for me to look at and the cleanest, nicest, ls i have seen.

so in closing, the car rides like a dream. all the buttons work, i dont have any idiot lights and it will suit my needs foir the time being.

ill be hanging around too so i wont be that easy for you guys to shake!

Nice cars! My dad has one, an '01 with the sport package and V8. Kinda hard to tell if that has the weather package with the auto windshield wipers and such? And the sport package was the little "manual" shift option..can't see the shifter either.

Nice cars though, smooth ride and a real quality feel. Pretty peppy as well, though I can't comment on the V6.

The LS's are nice, especially if you manage to get one without all the electrical gremlins they tend to have. definetly cant down you for a nice car.

ya i have already fallen in love with the ride. the v8 really has some pep. its not crazy but has enough to get out of its own way. i find that the automatic with the sport shifter is nice. im just missing my clutch pedal. ill upload some pics as soon as i get all cleaned up. i will say the previous owner added 17 inch american racing rims. they look nice not to over bearing. i still miss the bird though!

forgot to add that my insurance company informed (prior to purchase) me that my policy will go down $2. will find out when i call and give the vin. first call was a quote more or less.

They made a few LS's with the V6 and a manual tranny. My understanding is they are pretty rare though.

Does that have the Alpine system? Those are pretty nice sounding systems, but they are desperately lacking bass. I think they changed to a THX system in 03ish and added some subs. There are cutouts for I think it's 6x9s in the rear deck that aren't used on the Alpine system, perfect place for some kind of stealth subs. My dad put in an 8" in that location but the box is pretty big and the kick is still disappointing. I'd say some basic, quality 6x9s and an amp should be able to add some bass to a decent sounding system.
