DIY EGR Block Off Plates

I have make an easy to follow template to make your own EGR Block Off Plates. This PDF prints out a 8.5" x 11" Sheet with two outlines of the plates. you can glue this to your metal and cut it out. Of course a pair of tin snips may not be enough to cut some .125" material (especially in stainless steel), A grinder also is helpful.

I also included dimensions to draw the shape and cut it out however you need too.

I've made mine from .125" Aluminum. You can use what ever metal you got laying around. And any thickness should work but I suggest .125" to it will be sure to seal.

UPDATE:
I know that i posted this a year ago but i just now got around to putting my plates on and i have an update. the exhaust plate has to be very thick and/or have a plug .625 diameter by .5" long. otherwise its leaks.




Update #2:
Quite a few people that own 95-98 3.8 Fbodys have to rig up a dip stick holder. i used a zip tie for a while until I decided to make a bracket. I've added the bracket to the attachments so you have print and cut it as well.

Looks good.. mine ended up up being about a 1/4 inch thick and I tooled a nub on the back to fit inside the intake. I'll post a pic later.

I never got mine installed. a have a 96, which the PCM cannot be modified to delete the SES code for the missing EGR. I ended up swapping the EGR out with another i had to fix the error code :-\

We made mine out of stainless steel. I'll have to find my picture.

the metal i forget what its called but a half inch thick sheet 12x12 cost 200 dollars

I bought a metal bar, its not stainless or aluminum and I cut ground and painted it. Much cheaper then $200. Its 1/4 inch steel and its great.
