    Default Exhaust question

I got a Z28 muffler put on yesterday, sounds ok. Still really quiet, which I knew its wasn't going to be really loud but there's hardly a difference. How bad would it be to take the cat out? Would I lose any lowend torque?

Where would be a little low end TQ loss... not sure how much though.

Not really sure if it'll make it any louder either.

You will notice little to no low end loss since the cat(unless clogged) is not the bottle neck of the system. You will notice more rasp though.

There are a lot of people that use some sort of resonator in place of the cat, it will help with keeping the rasp down a little.

is it a new z muffler or an old one? With the muffler Im sure you know there is a "Break in" period, I call it the Burn in period. My magnaflow on my truck got louder over time (I'd say after 500 - 1000 miles.

Yeah its new. I know as they git older and break in the better, but I don't think it will ever git deep enough. That's why I thought about putting a glass pack on in place of the cat.

I doubt that will solve the problem you seem to be facing, what kind of rumble are you looking? A nice deep throaty rumble?
