Default How to bring the shine back in aluminum rims

These wheel have been sitting in the weather for almost 5 years. this thread is to show you how to bring back a shine to some old aluminum wheels.

this is what they look like after a wash. Be sure to wash before you start polishing, you will fill your applicators with dirt and grime and scratch the surface.

These here are the things you will need. I used Never dull to begin the process.

As you apply the never dull, be sure you use plenty of pressure, and follow the curve of the rim

After you have applied the never dull and buffed it off with a microfiber cloth, use the power ball to apply the mothers aluminum polish. (be sure to wet the power ball with water to make it moist for better performance). this is what you end up with after the aluminum polish.

One of the last steps is to apply some pertective wax. Its best to use a good quality wax like mothers, my wax of choice is pink wax, its harder to find but its the best in my opinion. this is what you get after all your hard work and 2 beers.

after your done, wash the rims to get the rest of the wax film and dust off the rims. Note (the more you rub the brighter the shine you will get). this process will also work on other finished metels as you can see on my plenum after I put a smooth finish on it.

Hope this helps you on your next polishing project, as long as you take your time and go threw the steps you will end up with a good product.
