No problem at all, what you did here was very time consuming and really deserves some more recognition. I will be adding this info to other sites as well. God Bless!

This is a great guide. I have just one question. Would this be the same procedure for a 3.4 v6 in 95 firebird? Thanks

it will be similar. however the specific harness connections and maybe the order could be different. but I know people have used this as a guide for the 3.4. I just dont know what is exactly different.

Thanks a million for this instructions. It will help me out a lot. I just got a 1999 Camaro with the 3800, and there is water in the oil, so I figured I would just pull the heads off and check them and the gaskets out. till I opened the hood and figured I would have to pull the motor, great to learn that I just have to drop it.

That's great! Glad its helpful. I've never tried pulling it from the top. I looks like a serious PITA. I've pulled mine twice. both times I used this write up. (well the first time i wrote the writeup lol) Good luck with your repair.

i'm going to wager that your LIM gaskets are toast. those are the first things to fail. You should go ahead and search for a new long block. water in the oil destroys bearings. you would need to replace all the bearings, the crank, and the cam shaft along with several other things i'm sure. But its good to check out the damage to be sure.
