Got me a Chicken

Finally picked up a second F-body today. Got myself a 94 Quasar blue Firebird. Small details, 3.4, auto, 132k miles, pw both of which work, manual mirrors, hardtop, non monsoon, I think its a light gray interior, and non leather wheel with all that good stuff. Needs some help but I only paid 800 for it.









I've been looking it over since I got and have made a list of the things that are wrong:

- belt tensioner is shot (have one from the red Camaro's 3.4)
- Ac is there, but not sure if it works. If not its coming out.
- leaks coolant, gotta find where.
- Leaks oil from either the rear main or the oil pan. I gotta jack it up to see from where.
- headliner is sagging, not a shocker
- driver side headlight motor is making some racket when it goes down.
- bump stops are gone
- hatch struts are bad
- carpet is shot
- dent on the hood
- tires are bad
- turn signal lever is broken
- air bag light is on

The good:
- Apparently the engine was just gone over, although that could be a bad thing.
- Trans is good
- seems the rear end has been redone
- All new cooling system
- new cat
- new o2s

I like it a lot. I have wanted another 3.4 ever since the red Camaro lost it's. I forgot how bad these things are without SFCs. I like that it is unmolested as well. I did forget how much slower the 3.4s were.

As far as plans, after its fixed I want to get some regular chicken wheels, SFCs, aluminum ds, maybe some other little crap. Definitely needs a new interior.

I worked on getting all the stickers off of it, as well as the front plate.

Yea its better looking than a lot of the cheap ones I have seen. There were quite a few more options a few months back, but I like the color on this one and didn't want to pass it up.

Meh, it can't be any worse than my friends blue mustang was. I got it knowing I would have to put some money into it. If the spending gets too carried away I will sell it.

nice buy for 800 especially. love that color, pretty rare. i vote the rims are the first thing to go haha

pontiac had killer rims in the 80s but those early 90s rims are another story haha

That was the plan. I'm setting this one up for DD duties and then its time to get Blackie's hair dryer in.

As for the rims, those fugly things are never going to be on the car again. I found a cheap set of 5 spokes on craigslist for 90, so I may pick them up after christmas. After that I'll sell my spare shooters and the whatever they call those wheels.

Today I'm going to rip out the interior, check for rust, and fix the turn signal lever. If I find the spare tensioner I'll replace that. I'll give it a bath and then jack it up to locate the leaks.
