damn. look like there is quite a bit of stuff going on there. the temp sensor will probably be on the motor near the belt assembly. if its going crazy then I would assume a short. and if there is a short there is a possibility that the others are related to that. i'd fix the obvious and see if you can fix the temp sensor first. then move to the other stuff.

all i know is that this truck is running so much better than it ever did. those issues i want to correct asap but even with those issues...so much better than ever. lol well i got nearly 3k into all this so i guess it should be running good. i just couldnt give up as i was so deep and knew it had to be something simple or somewhat simple. turns out t was...

now i have given it a lot of thought, im going to contact nissan at the dealership and above. these issues with the distributor and cat's should have been caught. they had no problem telling me i needed a new engine and charging me 300 for that. i may get nowhere but at least ill feel better.

Gut the cats by hand if you can find someone to put them back on. Unless there's emissions in your area, in which case you could probably get some small magnaflow cars for less money.

Two temp sensors is correct: one is water temp for the dash. Other is the cylinder head temp sensor for the ecu. Don't worry about the second one, some it only controls open/closed loop idles when the car is started. Unfortunately I don't know where the water temp sensor is on a VG33.

Your 3.3L is the same as the 3.0L in my Z, only slightly bigger an non-turbo. $1700 for a junkyard motor is a rip though! You should be able to get one for $300-$500.

so knock on wood the truck seems to be doing well. the temp sensor ironed itself out. i think it was a little low on coolant. after adding the coolant its working properly. the engine light is still on so im curious to see what they say on moday when i bring the truck back to the shop. im hoping its just the o2 sensor. the map / baro sensor makes me wonder a bit but i already replaced the map sensor...
