Thanks, it was indeed a ugly sight but i managed to clean up most of it, particularly the rocker arms, pushrods, and lifter guides. I wanted to paint the LIM but decided not to, for i wanted to get the car put back together and you can't really see it with the belt tensioner in the way; though i'm considering on painting the throttle body to match the UIM, since i have to service the oil pump now that it decided to go out completely.

    Default Update: 8/2013

Sorry for being late on this, but as of 8/9/13 I got the 2000 back from the shop. The reason it was at shop was I was having difficulty getting the pan due to clearance for oil pan issues (the exhaust being in the way). The actual cause behind everything was the oil pickup tube being clogged up and had to be replaced, and also there was sludge in the pan, due to the previous owner for not changing the oil regularly or decided to skip a few oil changes, and I changed the oil in it every 3,000 miles since I got it, so it was not my fault. Long story short, when I went to go pick it up (and spend $600 ), it was making more noise than before: more lifter noise, making the new lifters gone already and what I think I heard: a slight knocking, pointing out that a bearing is worn or is worn out) and I asked them about it, they told me that the damage was done, so now it looks like she's going to need a heart transplant
    Man, I hate 2013 already!!!

well, one of the upgrades will definitely be a new camshaft, not sure which one at the moment. That's all I can think of.

    Exclamation Update: 10/2013

Well at this point, the engine rebuild project has now been placed as top priority, with the way it's sounding now it may not last too long. I will be starting on this once i have the funds and tools.

So far, the following parts will be replaced:
    - Camshaft: Maybe going with a GT2 cam, to give it that loping sound and since an LS1 swap (which a lot of people i know say I should) is way out of my budget.
    - Lifters: again obviously.
    - Rod bearings: The lack of oil, due to the carelessness of the last owner, pretty much messed them up.
    - maybe pushrods

If anyone has useful info, please post it as it would be very helpful

if your rod bearings are worn your main bering are likely in the same boat.

    What about valve springs?
    Stall converter for the cam?

I just figured the rod bearings since there was excess play in the rods; looks like i'll add that to the list.

the valve springs will also be included with the new cam, and maybe rocker arms (if they're still good); I should have put those in my list, but i just listed the stuff that I know for a fact are in bad shape based on the symptoms.
As for the stall, i'm still debating which one i should go with
