Bought a bike today

Feeling pretty good about, what I think is a pretty decent deal on a motorcycle today. After turning down some guy with a 600cc Honda Shadow, all rusted up and paint mis-matching, I found another guy about an hour later with a 1986 Virago with 24,000 miles on it. Still in great running shape, just something funny with the carb but nothing big.

The guy with the Shadow, that was rusted, and had more miles on it, wanted $1300. The Virago was $750, and has a bigger motor. I believe the reason I got it for a decent price was that the owners didn't seem to know what they had.
In fact, they couldn't even read the odometer. They were counting in the tenth of a mile marker as the overall mileage. They honestly thought it had like 240,000 miles..:dunno:

Gonna be polishing it up and detailing tomorrow. I only had time today to take the sissy bar off, and the passenger pegs. After I bought it, I hadda go to work and only recently got home.

I figured I couldn't go wrong at that price. I think I could probably just turn it around and sell it for a around $300-400 more than I bought it as is, but I doubt I'm gonna

Yeah, you can tell on certain parts it was laid over on the right side. (Brake lever ground off a bit, and the turn signal was ground a bit) Other than that, cosmetic wise, there's just some scratches and stuff. Even though it's stock paint, I'd like to get it re-painted black or maybe even red.

Mechanical-wise, it used to be a dual carbed bike, but someone bought an aftermarket KJS dual intake to convert it to a single carb. Needa tweak it a bit I guess - getting a backfire at idle when it's still cold. That's about all there is to it.
