    NICE freakin' work!

I can't wait to see how it turns out. That's pretty much what I want to do to mine.

I've done enough tuning to be dangerous, so keep that in mind when I say: Regarding the cam, as long as you don't drop too low on vacuum at an idle, the ECM should be tunable to whatever cam/ rocker combo you want.
I haven't delved too deeply into our ECM yet, but if it is anything like the ones I've dealt with, you can go as low as 25-30 kPa and still get enough fuel to run at an idle. The rest is about measuring your exhaust and tuning accordingly.

    You guys ROCK!

Theres a couple other things you will have to do. You will need to trim the top ear off the timing cover, drill a hole in the passenger side accessory bracket to bolt to the head, grind down the alternator a bit to clear the valve cover, extend some wiring, you can use the 3400 thermostat housing with a longer radiator hose, throttle cable from a 3400 monte or just a longer one that uses the same style 3.4 one will not work, gonna have to trim up the ps bracket, and some different length pushrods. I'll think of more. I'll write the write up tomorrow after work, 4 day weekend.

Oh I know there's still a ton of modifications to brackets and what not, but that's why I have all you wonderful people! For advice and making sure I don't forget the little things! :P
So I just heard back from the shop and the crank needs to be turned. I was quoted $195 from a local place to get it turned, and then bearings would be on top of it. I looked on RockAuto and a remanufactured crank, including bearings, would run me around $250 shipped if I sent them my crank first, what do you guys think?

Also, would I be able to use the 3.4L connecting rods with the 3400 pistons?

So it looks like I can use my 3.4 connecting rods with the 3400 pistons, so that's that taken care of, does anyone know if rockauto ever does a free shipping promotion?

Anyone have any tips on getting some aluminum intakes cleaned really well? I don't want to start polishing just yet, but anything that can remove almost all the dirt because I had them "jet cleaned" and it didn't really have the effect I was hoping.

i think a hot dip would clean it better maybe.

Only thing is you can't hot tank aluminum. If you do, when you go to take it out there won't be anything left haha. I'm just really disappointed with how that came out :/ I guess I'll just go old school and grab a tooth brush and bristle brush, and a jug of solvent haha.
