Hey guys, long time no talk. Project is still in the works I'm just having concerns about the headers I have. They're the mid-tube pacesetter headers and the bolt holes on the end of the flanges don't quite line up. I know I can slot them but I'm worried about that causing an exhaust leak. Anyone have any insight? Would it be better to buy a set of 3x00 header flanges, cut the flanges off the 2.8 headers and weld the knew flanges on? Or would the 3.4L pacesetter headers work out better? Any help is greatly appreciated

You would have to go with 3x00 headers or flanges. 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4 heads are all identical. So headers would be the same.

Any ideas on the best place to pick a set of them up? The ones on wot-tech don't seem the best haha

What is everyone's opinion on the EGR system? I'm seriously debating just getting rid of the whole thing and buying a block off.

it makes a mess of the intake. i'd ditch it if you can tune it out.

if its throwing a code i'd also ditch it.

So I stripped down the headers today. Whatever coating was on them before was a bitch, so I think I'm going to give VHT a try. The extra tubing is an A.I.R system that will be deleted and I'm deleting the EGR system as well. On the fence about the A/C system, needs a recharge or something because when the car was still driving it made a terrible squeeking noise so I bypassed it. Things have started to pick back up again thanks to the constant nagging from the wife to get the car done. She missed almost as much as me. Stripped the brake line bolts trying to break them loose so for the sake of moving things along we've decided to reinstall the engine from the top. Just waiting on sensors for the bottom end and I'll update when more progress is made.
    Thanks for reading guys.

Radiator is already out of the car and all of the accessories are off the front of the engine. I've watched a couple videos of guys who pull it out the top and drop it in with everything on it, but I'll probably end up leaving my UIM off and all the accessories.

Well I was looking at some of my parts and was inspecting the rad and low and behold, I touched it and it disintegrated haha. The fins were just straight toast. What do you guys think would be the best option?

man that's probably a good thing. you wouldn't want to find that afterwards.

I honestly think the stock rad in a 3800 is plenty for this southern weather. I wouldn't think that the 3.4 rad would be much different on heat. idk if i would go look for a big rad unless its cheaper to get an after market.

The core for the 3.4 and 3.8 are the same
