I looked into cutting the benzel.... which was no biggie, I was more concerned about filling in the sides.... GM 1.5 DIN's are just weird.... Anyways... I'm thinking I may go this route...

ouch 170 or 80 used. thats pretty steep.
I'd rather grab a stock one cut it and fiberglass.
its not too bad. I've only done a couple things. mostly reinforcement. but i'll be doing a little more fun stuff at some point :-\
Sweet ride man. I can tell you really love your car. I also have dents on my driver side that I'm extremely anxious to get rid of.
My most recent adventure is the Y-pipe.... I found one at a local junk yard, same year car...
Get it home, go to drop the old y-pipe out tthat was cracked in an unweldable area.... Break two bolts off in the driver side manifold... this was after soaking the bolts in PB BLASTER and NUT OFF and WD-40 ... then the passager saide cae right off ... so I then drop the pipe down and realize... hmmm these look the same but one is taller.... in which case my car is supposed to have the taller and not the shorter one... at leat I thought...
So I have to temove the EGR tube from the driver side exhauset the bolt holding it in broke .... So off it come from the motor... Oh wait.. no it desn't bceaues the heat sheild wants to wrap around the bolt.... so I ende up cutting it with a screw drive and a hammer because none of the 15 saws or 2 grinder or any other 100 tools would fit in the small space...
After a hour of drilling and taping the exhaust manifold was finnaly ready to go back on..... so on it goes and then onto the y-pipe issues... so I measure and shorten and reweld te y-pipe.. and go water test it for leaks.. and it pours like a fountain, so I grind it down and fill holes.. and it leaks like a fountain again, so back to the grinder... and I go to weld up some more holes and low and behold run out of wire at 10:45 PM
After church hte next day I picked up some wire and headed back to the garage... I ended up cutting the y-ipi again to make one more adjustment welded it up, grinded it down... this time set my pants on fire!!!
So anyways.... about an hour before dusk I go the car fired up and it was nice and quiet up front!
Quite a bit of a headache, but the result was good in the end!
