Dont give up. Where there is a will there is a way.

And control arm bushings? Torch the rubber out and use a saw to cut the outer and it pops right out. Use a couple deep well sockets to keep the control arm from deforming when you press the new ones in

Nothing to worry about there. its common... for me anyway.

there is a bolt that is very annoying bolt to get to that sets the center of that fender. you have to open the wheel well to get to it but it can be adjusted to set the fender out more to clear the door. mine did it for years. i constantly have to adjust it when the summers hit. the fender want to flatten out in the heat.

Wahahahaha!! Right? I can try to shim it forward a little.
Whelp, I'm giving up on the Shortstar Camaro. It's a little more than I'm willing to put into it.
    However, I have a series1 L67 from a 1995 Riveria that I can try to make work.
Thus concludes the insane swap thread. I'm sure I'll eventually find a project for the LX5 but probably not a Camaro. Maybe we could start a new thread dedicated to spitballing the L67 challenges? Since two of us that I know of are seriously considering it.
Thanks so much for all the help and support!!

That's too bad. I understand the pressure.

I've seen a few l67 builds. I know you have to cut the front of the blower to fit the firewall and weld on a U pipe to turn it towards the front (since it was only for transaxle cars)

plus you have to re locate the throttle also. unless you swap to a DBW you have to lengthen the throttle cable to reach. That is about where I stopped. everything else is just harness related stuff and the tune. The tune I believe also needs some custom tables. I believe someone has posted info about a lot of that. It's been a while since I looked at it.

I ultimately decided to go with a powerdyne centrifugal supercharger since it was more simple to install and tune. I'm still new to tuning and this is my daily so months of down time I really couldn't afford.

Nice man! That sounds a lot more doable. I'll keep an eye on your thread! I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I could run the L67 block with a centrifugal or possibly turbo. I have a good ecm...
    Thanks again!

very cool sir. seems like you will beat me to boosted at this point. I still have about 6 more months of finishing up junk in the house/shop before I can invest time and money in the SC build. Luckily I have everything on the shelf except maybe the custom brackets and piping.

I want so bad to find a double roller that doesn't require the balance shaft gear to be removed. I really don't like how much vibration there is.

Oh man. I doubt I'll beat ya to it. Looks pretty tough to put that FWD in there...But I can just cut stuff. Besides I take forever to get anything done. Thanks for encouraging me when the LX5 didn't fit. I really appreciate it!

Agreed. The balance shaft is good to have in there.
