so along with the gopro, i'll be also recoding the outside noise aka exahust. this audio might not be useful in the video but i'm sure i can cut it in a few places for effect. i'll be recording it on an extra smartphone and i'll get a mic (better than the one pictured below)
mounting it to record audio other than wind noise is going to be a challenge but maybe the low speeds will help for the most part.
Phone, adapter, and, soon to be replaced, mic

I ordered another mic. this is from a fairly new China company (2007) called Boya. They make mics specifically for dslr cameras and camcorders.
there are 2 reasons i pick them. one the price was right... and 2 the frequency response was down to 30hz. which means it will pick up the lows a little better than that other mic which i think only 80hz. we shall see.

well i got it in yesterday and did some initial tests and i wasn't satisfied. Boya Quaility isn't that great for the price.
so last night i narrowed it down. I looked at Rode, Sennheiser, audio Technica, and probably a few others. found a few "best mic for your DSLR" or similar titled articles. the good names are all too high for what i want. Audio Technica had 2 that i settled on. Pro24 and ATR 3350. i ended up getting the 3350. youtube videos show that it works well for car audio. it has better range than the pro24 and its smaller being a lavalier mic. plus i can literally tape the mic to the car lol. Hopefully when I get it in i'll have
most of this is boring stuff but hopefully it will result in a good video after the cruise.
I look forward to hearing the results after the cruise.

i tell you this mic thing has stressed me out. all i was looking for is a lower end mic that is better than an internal but didn't cost that much. i started low and kept going up in price. then decided to listen to some youtube vids... that should have been my first step![]()
mic thing has been sorted lol found a good mic and go the gopro setup right. should be some nice footage lol.
also its less than 2 week till the cruise!
Who's ready?!
I'm ready! I hope the weather will continue to cooperate. This past weekend was great.
