In other news, I will finally be able to say I built the entire turbo setup myself. You already know I canned the driver's side log header for the full length header. When I pulled the passenger side log, it's toast. So looks like I'll be using the first few inches plus the flange off the passenger side full length header, and using the rest of the leftover crossover pipe and ypipe to fabricate an all new passenger side setup.
Motivation is building.

Bad news.
The turbo setup is on the shelf, and the V6 Turbo is at the end of the road. I got to thinking about it, and I just want to drive it, so I didn't put the turbo back on.
Good news.
It's alive! Porting out the exhaust ports really woke it up. From what I remember about the 2.8 without the turbo, this thing scoots. I used .030 shims under the factory springs, those other springs I ran on the last one were just way too much spring pressure. Used the 1.6 roller tip rockers and reused my high energy pushrods.
I primed the fuel pump a couple times and it fired right up. Not too shabby for winging the valve lash adjustment. The valve train is quiet.
The open headers on the other hand are not
It's going to get a factory exhaust and stay non turbo until it gets an LS/T56 swap.

All cleaned up. Need to get a factory exhaust on it. Luckily I only need the $25 intermediate pipe. I've already got a factory muffler with the dual tips.

i know the feeling. i've had the SC on teh shelf for a while. it's hard to jus start ripping a good running car apart lol.
