Default My daily is going to be the death of me...

Guess she's pissed off at me or something So today after i get off work, I walk out to my car and there is a decent sized puddle of coolant under it, so I pop the hood and check the radiator and it's not empty but its low, luckily I had a new thing of coolant in the trunk so I top it off and leave work. Drive about 20 minutes to get up to operating temp then pull into a gas station to see if I was leaking anything, check under the car, no drips, pop the hood and look around, don't see anything. I could see a little coolant around the bottom left side of the water pump but it didn't appear to be leaking, felt around a little and nothing. So i drive home keeping an eye on the temp. Get home check everything, still no leaks. Let the car sit for awhile and cool down then went and checked it, no puddle or nothing. So I've been sitting here thinking about what could be going on. Head gasket? Intake manifold gasket? Water pump? I've never had a pump leak that much before it died and it wasn't leaking when I checked it both times. I'm about due for an oil change anyway so this weekend I'll do that and see if there is any coolant in the oil. Anyone have any suggestions for stuff to check or anything? I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow.

that's interesting. definitely check the oil but apart from that you are going to have to see where it's coming from. is it possible that you have been low on coolant already (with no noticable side effects) and the puddle wasn't your coolant but possibly something else?

Weird right? Yeah I will be changing oil Saturday and I'll post an update. Didn't think about that, that's a possibility although I'm not sure what it could be, car ran strong and normal. I'll poke around some more and see what I can find.

Got off work and walked to my car expecting to find another mystery puddle but nothing. Now I'm wondering if maybe the cap on the radiator was loose enough that coolant seeped out maybe? Guess I'll see what the oil looks like tomorrow.

You have a pretty good list of things to check. If you keep the radiator and reservoir full you will eventually find the source. If it only happens when it is full, you may want to check the seams and ports on the radiator for cracks in the plastic.

Alright, update. Did an oil change and no water in the oil, so that's a huge relief. But it is for sure coolant, as i was under the car I saw it drip right off the bottom of the K member, it looks like its leaking from the passenger side and running down. I don't have a lot of time to dick with it today because my brother is getting married in about 5 hours so I have a busy afternoon ahead. But I have been checking the coolant everyday since I discovered the puddle to make sure she's got coolant and it docent appear to be loosing any, Im really stumped on this one fellas

Heater hoses are on the passenger side. It also could be one of the bypass elbows. Those would be the easiest to fix. However it still does not rule out the intake manifold gaskets.

AU that's true, but I feel if it was an intake gasket that the leak would be more consistent, it's been almost a week since the mystery puddle showed up and hasn't been back, I also can't find coolant around the intake, but I'm definitely not ruling anything out. I'm just leaning more towards a hose or elbow. Hopefully this Saturday I get get the car in the air and look around.
Dustin, I was kinda thinking that too, I don't know for sure if this has anything to do with it but that morning on my way to work it was chilly out and my windows were fogging up so I ran the feet heater/defroster all the way to work but haven't done it since.
