    Default 02 S-10 pickup

    I thought i created a thread on my truck but apparently not

    I've had this truck for going on 10 years probably. I bought it from my father to use as a DD back when my car was still parked from the initial head gasket failure (pre operationX)

    Truck Specs:
    2002
    Chevy S-10
    2.2L I4 Flex Fuel
    5 Speed Transmission
    Standard Cab, Bucket seats


    Its always been in the back ground of my photos lol





    but always part of the work





    its been a good truck... It is even the reason that I bought a motor for the car lol. Explanation to follow.

    in 03 i bought my camaro... 2 years later cooling issues got the best of it and blew the head gasket. i went through a number of vehicles both shitty and not. Bought this truck from my father and DD'd it until the water pump was reduced to saw blade :-\



    that killed the motor. apparently water doesn't cool sitting still lol. it lost compression in more than 1 cylinder and was completely shit after that lol


    so I had 2 choices fix the truck or fix the car..... so i gambled on both. i found motors for both and fixed the truck first because it was the most reliable of the 2. then "Operation X" began.

    once the camaro was back on the road the truck was almost a yard ornament. it was reduced to hauling and a backup to the camaro when i needed to work on it.

    I honestly neglected it for several years. i drive it once every 2 months and probably 2-30 miles each time. and the occansional trip to ALT to pull Bone's motor lol. but now.... its in need of some repairs.

    The camaro is getting closer to the SC build and i'll need several months to finish it the right way.

    this was all going to be a very relaxed list where time wasn't an issue. until this week. I no sooner get one part to fix the truck in and the camaro gets jealous

    Flat tire... gash in the shoulder



    So i'm driving the truck at the moment looking at where to drop money :-\

    The current issues i have to work on are:

    Leaking cab (rain)

    Leaking Clutch Slave cylinder (in the trans)

    O2 sensor no functioning (wiring problem)

    and other minor issue like warped rotors and squeky brakes)

    The issues are not really hard to fix. I've pulled the trans out a couple times to fix that slave cylinder but that was literally 5-8 years ago. on my back in the gravel. not looking forward to that again. Got my eye on borrowing a lift lol

    The other stuff is just annoying. the damn leak would be nothing really except for the fact that it soaks my damn seat belt WTF?!?

    I did find the leak and how it was making it to my seat belt...

    So i did manage to get some left over silicone that i had from a prior project and seal the driver side of the window (ran out of silicone) I feel it will seal considering that i can park downhill and my seat belt stays dry. I'm sure at some point i need to seal the whole thing. but since its a work truck more or less. I'm allowed to half ass a few things lol.

    Speaking of half assing. believe it or not there are more parts than you think that are the same between the camaro and the truck. for example that slave cylinder is actually the one from my camaro. none of the after market cylinders would hold up for whatever reason. so i decided to just used some left over parts and its held up for about 4 years now so i'm pretty satisfied with the effort lol.

    it will cost about 200 dollars to fix the flat on the car. that is probably a good thing to fix first. but i have the slave cylinder for the truck. there is nothing but effort stopping me from fixing that right now :-\

    and its fathers day weekend so what do i want to do....

    right now i have to fill the clutch reservoir every day because it leaks down pretty much on a 20 miles round trip to work and back...

    to solve my current problem bought a tire for the car. That way i can pull the trans on the truck and be in no hurry to get it bolted back together :-\

    I'm getting the itch to mod again which is good. I got so many mods in the works for the camaro it will be nice to get some of them done.
